Ms. Austgen has been teaching at the Denver Center Theatre Academy since 2007 and is the Academy’s At-Risk Coordinator. As an actor, she has performed with the Colorado Shakespeare Festival, Arvada Center, Curious Theatre Company, the Aurora Fox, the Country Dinner Playhouse and Theatreworks and has received two Westword "Best of Denver" awards for Best Actress in a Comedy for her work in Comic Potential (2003) and Collapse (2011). Jessica directs and performs with Jane’s Addiction-Improvised Jane Austen, is a cast member at Impulse Theater (Denver’s longest running show) and will join the cast of Cult Following at Off-Center @ The Jones this fall. She also sits on the board of the Group Mind Foundation, a non-for-profit group that produces the annual Denver Improv Festival. Jessica earned her BFA in Theatre Performance from the University of Colorado at Boulder and holds a Master’s in Creative Writing from the University of Denver.
