Tam Dalrymple Frye
Director of Education
Ms. Frye is the Director of Education for The Denver Center for the Performing Arts (DCPA). She has managed, created and taught theatre programs for more than 25 years. Her tenure at the DCPA began in 1992 when she was hired to establish the Denver Center Theatre Academy and develop in-school drama programming. In 1995, the education team created Dramatic Learning™, an arts-integrated curriculum that tailors classroom teacher’s lesson plans to help students understand principals in language arts, social studies, science and math through theatre activities. Dramatic Learning serves more than 13,000 students annually in the metro Denver area. Before the DCPA, she was an instructor of acting at the University of Oklahoma, University of Arts and Science of Oklahoma, University of Wyoming, and New York University. She holds a BFA in Drama from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts and will complete her Masters in Arts Management and Program Development from the University of Denver in 2015. In 2008, she received the Distinguished Services Award from the Alliance of Colorado Theatre for her work in Educational Theater. Past board occupancies include the Alliance for Colorado Theatre, Colorado Alliance for Arts Education, and Denver Public Schools Arts Resource Council. She currently sits on the steering committee of the Education Directors for the Alliance Project and the Scientific and Cultural Collaborative and is honored to be the Chair of the First Lady of Denver’s Bringing Back the Arts Foundation.
