We inspire future actors and current audiences with learning opportunities all year long.
Since our inception in 1979, the Denver Center for the Performing Arts has welcomed more than 1.7 million students, of which 1.3 million were youth, to a variety of educational programs.
We serve local schools through in-class residencies, fieldtrips, shadowing days, cast interactions, and playwriting and musical theatre competitions. Teachers benefit from professional development workshops, study guides and distance learning opportunities that enrich their classroom experience.
Students of all ages benefit from year-round acting classes designed for all experience levels. And families can participate in a range of activities including our Kids Night on Broadway and Family Day events with pre-show activities and a discounted ticket to a family-friendly show; Family Forum Forum, a free afternoon activity that utilizes a variety of acting skills, and specially-designed family subscription packages that feature age-appropriate shows.
Our audiences enjoy a wide range of events designed to enhance the plays on our stages — pre- and post-show discussions, tours, and fun social hours intended to enhance your theatre-going experience.
Plus, in an effort to make theatre accessible to all, the DCPA provides class scholarships, reduced-price tickets through the SCFD 10 for $10 program, and theatre-going opportunities for people of all abilities.
