The National Theatre Conservatory is an accredited Master of Fine Arts program of the Tony Award-winning Denver Center Theatre Company. Created by Act of Congress and Presidential designation in association with the American National Theatre and Academy, we provide gifted students from across the country the opportunity to develop their talents.

Each year we accept eight students through national auditions. Once accepted, students will spend the next three years preparing for active careers in theatre, film and television. We:

  • Provide rigorous training for aspiring theatre professionals
  • Develop artists who recognize the importance of theatre and its part in America’s social, political and cultural life.
  • Challenge students to go beyond comfortable levels of achievement.
  • Maintain a faculty that is actively engaged in its own process of artistic development.
  • Expose students to the professional company and daily operation of a major regional theatre.
  • Instill in students a strong standard of ethics and personal responsibility.
  • Furnish students with a broad knowledge of theatre history so they might understand the traditions they must uphold.
  • Serve the communities of the Rocky Mountain region through our personnel and resources.
  • Invite guest teachers who have included Edward Albee, Sir Peter Hall, Terrence McNally and August Wilson among many others.
