What is it?
The Women’s Voices Fund was established in 2005 by 100 founding members to support the work of women playwrights at The Denver Center Theatre Company. Interest from the fund, which now totals almost $700,000, is used to commission, workshop and produce new plays by women. The fund is a national model and we hope to continue to grow it for years to come.
Did you know?
In 2008 only 18% of plays produced nationwide were by women and only one of eight new plays produced on Broadway is by a female playwright.
Since 2005 the Denver Center Theatre Company has: - Produced 19 plays by women including 3 world premieres
- Employed 13 female directors
- Commissioned 9 female playwrights thanks to the Women’s Voices Fund
