No. Application materials become the property of the National Theatre Conservatory and are not returnable or able to be forwarded to another school or program.

No. Our program begins only in the Fall.
May I defer my admission?
Due to the nature of our admissions process and the scheduling of classes for the different levels of students, we do not defer admission in our program.
May I leave the program and come back?
Not at this time.
What do I need to prepare for my audition?
Actors should prepare two contrasting audition monologues of not more than two minutes each. One selection should be in verse, taken from a play by Shakespeare or one of his contemporaries; the second selection should be from a contemporary play.
Are walk-up auditions available?
Walk-up auditions are available in the four cities where auditions are held. The dates are listed on the application. You must bring the $60 fee and application materials with you on the day of your audition. Application materials also are available at the audition.
Are campus visits and/or tours available?
The National Theatre Conservatory is housed in one building adjacent to downtown’s Denver Performing Arts Complex. It is a non-traditional school in that there is no formal campus. Our classes are taught in a variety of rehearsal studios.
Contact the Registrar to schedule a tour of the facilities.
May I see a student show prior to my admission?
Yes. The National Theatre Conservatory performs two
repertory shows each spring (typically mid-April) that are available to the public. You also may attend an open rehearsal presented by the First- and Second-Year students.
Contact the Registrar for a list of shows and dates.
May I see videotapes of previous projects or shows available?
No. Videotapes are not available to anyone of previous student projects or shows.
If accepted into the program, will I be in Denver Center Theatre Company productions?
Casting for Denver Center Theatre Company main-stage productions is done by the Artistic Director. Student participation in Theatre Company productions varies each year. Traditionally, students have been cast in roles and understudy assignments each season.
Do you have summer classes?
Not at this time.
Is there health insurance included with the program?
There is no health insurance plan offered with the program. We do encourage students to carry their own health insurance. Workman’s Compensation covers injuries sustained while at the Center and there are local clinics that take students on a sliding scale payment plan. Flu shots are provided to the students each year, free of charge.
Will I need a car? How is public transportation in the Denver area?
Most students find that a car is not necessary, as they have found housing near the school. There are restaurants, fast food and grocery stores in the downtown area. There is no free parking in the downtown Denver area available to students. There is a Light Rail line that services the downtown area and there is bus service throughout town. Students are encouraged to find housing with as small of a commute as possible.
