What is The Denver Center for the Performing Arts?
The Denver Center for the Performing Arts (DCPA) is the multi-faceted entertainment hub of the Western region of the United States. The DCPA has two theatrical divisions:
Denver Center Attractions, which presents eight-to-12 Broadway touring productions each year and long-running cabaret shows.
The Denver Center Theatre Company, a Tony Award-winning regional theatre, which produces and presents 8-to-10 classical, American and new plays each season.

The Denver Center for the Performing Arts is located in the Denver Performing Arts Complex at Speer & Arapahoe streets in downtown Denver, Colorado.
What is the difference between The Denver Center for the Performing Arts and the Denver Performing Arts Complex?
The Denver Center for the Performing Arts is a not-for-profit 501(c) (3) organization whose primary focus is the presentation of live theatrical productions. It also houses film and television, voice research and education divisions. The Denver Performing Arts Complex is 4-square-block site owned and operated by the City and County of Denver that offers 11, 260 seats in 11 performance venues. The Denver Center for the Performing Arts is the primary user of the theatres in the Complex, although several arts organizations, such as the Colorado Symphony, Opera Colorado and The Colorado Ballet also call the Complex home.

But what do I do on Sunday?
The Call Center is generally closed on Sunday (with exceptions for show on-sales).
However, ticket agents are on duty in the box office at each theatre one hour prior to curtain for your convenience.

What are your curtain times?
Denver Center Theatre Company plays take place in the Helen Bonfils Theatre Complex, located in the Denver Performing Arts Complex, Mon-Thurs 6:30pm; Thurs-Sat 7:30pm. Saturday matinee 1:30pm. Holiday curtain times may differ. Please check your tickets.
Denver Center Attractions’ shows in The Buell Theatre and Ellie Caulkins Opera House generally run Tues-Sat at 8:00pm. Saturday and Sunday matinees begin at 2:00pm. Sunday evening performances are at 7:30pm Cabaret performances in the Garner Galleria Theatre begin at 7:30pm. Times can vary, depending on the production. Please check your tickets.
Where can I park?
There is a City-owned 1,800-space parking garage on-site at the Denver Performing Arts Complex, which is operated by Allright Parking. There is also a parking garage across the street from the Complex at the Colorado Convention Center at Speer and Champa. In addition, there are a number of surface lots within easy walking distance of the Complex. To avoid parking concerns altogether, consider riding the Light Rail downtown. There is a Light Rail stop directly across the street from the Complex. It’s a good idea to plan to arrive 15-30 minutes before your scheduled curtain time. Please check your tickets.
Do I have to dress up to see a play?
At any given performance you’re likely to see everything from jeans to tuxedos. The best rule of thumb: business attire (unless a dress code is specified for a particular event).
Can I bring young children to the theatre?
We welcome children six years of age and older to our theatres. No babes in arms can be admitted to the theatres. With questions about age-appropriateness of a particular play, please call the Box Office at 303.893.4100 for guidelines.
Can I take pictures in the theatre?
Actor’s Equity Union rules strictly prohibit the taking of photographs or videos or using recording devices in the theatre. Their use may result in having them confiscated and the film/video destroyed.
The use of cell phones is strictly prohibited.
Out of consideration for the actors and audience members, please make sure your cell phone is turned off before you enter the theatre.
How can I be reached when I’m at the theatre?
Parents and doctors may leave these numbers in case of an emergency. Be sure your caregiver knows the name of the production you are seeing, what theatre you are in and the exact location of your seats. House management staff will then be able to locate you in case of emergency.

Are the theatres accessible?
All the theatres in the Denver Performing Arts Complex are accessible. If you require wheelchair seating be sure to indicate so at the time you purchase your tickets. Companion seating and availability vary by venue. Assistance is available upon arrival at the theatre. There is parking for persons with disabilities in the Denver Performing Arts Complex parking garage on Levels Three & Four. Infrared hearing devices are available at the Patron Service Desk in the Bonfils Theatre Complex lobby and at the coat check counter in the Buell and Ellie Caulkins Opera House. The DCPA provides American Sign Language for the hearing impaired and Audio Described for the visually impaired at select performances. Please check with the Box Office for information on these performances.
Where can I get something to eat before the show?
Food and drinks are available in all of the lobbies of the theatres in the Denver Performing Arts Complex prior to the shows. No food or drink is allowed in the theatre, however. Denver has many fine downtown restaurants in a variety of price ranges within walking distance of the Complex, particularly on or near the 16th Street Mall and in LoDo (Lower Downtown).
