Advanced Acting: Devising Theatre

In this ensemble-based collaborative environment you will have an opportunity to further your work in improvisation and performance through the devising process. Devising is a theatrical process that invites a variety of creative problem solving, personal expression, writing, and performance honed through devising’s unique relationship between actor and director. The theme of this session will be around the concept of fire, both literal and metaphoric. While the increase of fire’s devastation in contemporary climate change rises to newsfeeds and reportage, fire has long been an aspect in art, poetry, music, ritual and other ways and means of cultural and human expression. Outside rehearsal time is required.
