Inspired by Kate DiCamillo’s award‑winning Orris and Timble books, this class brings the unlikely friendship of a rat and an owl to life onstage. Can a rat and an owl really stay friends when the world says they shouldn’t? What other uncommon animal friendships could exist? Young actors will use their bodies, voices, and imaginations to explore courage, compassion, and character creation as they build their own barnyard adventures. Through playful storytelling and ensemble work, students will craft an original performance to share with family and friends.

Rex is trying her best—she wants to make friends, follow the rules, and definitely not eat her classmates…but being a dinosaur among humans isn’t easy! Inspired by Ryan T. Higgins’ hilarious Penelope books, this high-energy class invites young performers to chomp, stomp, and giggle their way through Penelope’s world as they explore big feelings, brave choices, and what it means to fit in. Using body, voice, and imagination, students will create their own characters—from dino classmates to chaotic teachers—and build original scenes full of comedy and heart. Through playful storytelling and ensemble work, the class creates a short performance that celebrates friendship, fun, and the joyful mess of being yourself!

Inspired by Aaron Blabey’s Bad Guys graphic novels, this high‑energy class invites young performers to leap into the comedy and chaos of “baddies” trying their best to do good. Using body, voice, and imagination, students create heroic (or not‑so‑heroic) characters and build action-packed, silly scenes full of surprises. Through theatre ensemble games and storytelling, the class crafts an original short play celebrating teamwork, big laughs, and the messy journey toward becoming good, performed for family and friends.
