DCPA Theatre Company recognized with 16 Henry Awards Nominations

On Wednesday, June 3, the Colorado Theatre Guild announced nominations for its 15th annual Henry Awards. Established in 2006 and named for longtime local theatre producer Henry Lowenstein, the awards honor outstanding achievement by performers, artists and producing companies throughout the state.

The DCPA Theatre Company was recognized with 16 nominations including Outstanding Production of a Play for Indecent, directed by Nancy Keystone; Outstanding Direction of a Play for A Doll’s House directed by DCPA Theatre Company Artistic Director, and Outstanding Direction of a Play for Indecent directed by Nancy Keystone.

“We are delighted to have Indecent, A Doll’s House, Twelfth Night, twenty50 and You Lost Me recognized among this incredible array of Colorado’s best theatre talent,” said DCPA Theatre Company Artistic Director Chris Coleman. “While we regret that we won’t be able to gather in person, I can’t imagine a better occasion for our local theatre community to celebrate the incredible talents of those who are most impacted by current circumstances. I look forward to gathering with my colleagues to honor the expertise, passion, creativity and dedication of artists, actors and companies throughout Colorado.”

Much like the theatre scene nationwide, the awards ceremony has been impacted by COVID-19. Of note, Colorado Theatre Guild opted to forgo its category for Outstanding Season for a Theatre Company due to this year’s shortened season. Rather than the in-person celebration that has historically marked the event, this year’s ceremony will take place online on Sunday, July 26, 2020. Details will be announced at a later date.
