Denver Museum of Nature and Science opens “Dogs! A Science Tail”

Just when you thought the dog days of summer were coming to an end, Denver Museum of Nature & Science opens “Dogs! A Science Tail.”

If you’re one of the 60 million Americans who own a dog, this highly-interactive exhibit is just the doggie treat for you! Does your dog seem to know what you’re saying? Who runs faster — man or canine? What kind of care do they need? How did dogs evolve from wolves?

You’ll answer these questions and more through four distinct areas of the exhibit:

  • The Incredible Dog: Test your running pace against various breeds. See the world through your dog’s eyes. Understand how dogs think and communicate.
  • Dogs and Humans, Together Forever: Explore how dogs and humans bond. Test your knowledge of canine pop-culture in a “Jeopardy!” game show aptly named “Jeopawdy!”
  • Tail as Old as Time: Analyze bones and DNA patterns to see how scientists study the effects of dog domestication. Understand how dogs evolved from ancient wolves into lovable and diverse companions.
  • Caring for Dogs: Explore the possibilities and responsibilities that come with bringing a dog into your life. Learn how to care for these furry family members.

And if you want more to wag your tail at, make sure to pair your visit with the award-winning documentary Superpower Dogs in the IMAX theatre. Narrated by Chris Evans, this 3D adventure showcases the life-saving skills and extraordinary bravery of these incredible animals.
