The pair fielded a variety of questions from host John Moore, including the value of a predominantly white audience base seeing this play right here and right now.

“If I do my job well,” Lewis responded, “all of you can have a conversation about what’s going on in the play that translates into the news that you watch the next morning.”

One Night in Miami plays only through April 19 at The Space Theatre.
