'Saturday Night Stars' video series: Meet Fred Churbuck

Today, we continue our fun series leading up to Saturday’s big “Saturday Night Alive” gala, which is expected to raise up to $1 million for the DCPA’s Education programs. In this series, we call your attention to the SNA committee chairs who make the gala happen.

Up next: Fred Churbuck of the Salah Foundation, which is matching up to $125,000 on specific auction items at the March 7 Saturday Night Alive gala.

The Salah Foundation is a private family foundation that supports nonprofit organizations in the U.S. that strengthen families and communities and advances individuals to become productive and responsible citizens. There is a special interest in education, medical research, community development and self-sufficiency programs aimed at the economically disadvantaged, the young, the elderly and the disabled.

“I can’t imagine what it would be like for my kids or their kids to live without arts in the vibrant sense that I experienced it,” said Churbuck, Director of Sales at Exclusive Resorts.

Last year, the DCPA’s Education Division engaged more than 68,000 students of all ages.

Jessie Mueller and Jarrod Spector, stars of the Tony Award-nominated hit Broadway musical Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, will share the stage March 7 as co-headliners of this year’s Saturday Night Alive fundraiser. Mueller won the 2014 Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical, and Spector was nominated for Best Actor.
