WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT
In response to COVID-19 and the ensuing public health orders from the State of Colorado and City of Denver, The Denver Center continues to face programmatic uncertainty. Since March 2020, the DCPA has canceled or postponed 34 shows, two fundraisers, hundreds of classes, and multiple rental events resulting in a multi-million dollar financial loss.

What is the status of upcoming Broadway shows?
The best place to find updates to upcoming shows is at this page (denvercenter.org/response). SUBSCRIPTIONS
What is the status of my Broadway subscription package?

We still plan to bring you a full season of fantastic Broadway entertainment and currently expect to reschedule all the postponed titles on the Broadway subscription when tours resume next year.

CREDITS & REFUNDS
I asked to receive a credit on my DCPA account for canceled performances. How do I locate it?
Log into your account and click into order history. Orders that would have contained the original tickets will now have a “Credit for Cancelled Event” in its place. Credits can be redeemed online using the Gift Card Number and Redemption number at check out. If you have further questions, please contact the Box Office.
Does my credit expire?
Credit for Cancelled Events expire after 24 months.
I asked to receive a refund for canceled performances. How can I verify that a refund was issued?
Log into your account and click into order history to review. Your refund would have been processed through your original point of purchase and noted on your bank or credit card statement. In the instance that we were unable to refund to the original point of purchase, a refund check would have been issued and mailed to the patron and address on file.
REOPENING PROTOCOLS
What health and safety protocols will you put in place to reopen the theatres?
While these plans will be finalized closer to the reopening of our theatres, we will follow federal, state, and local recommendations, which may include masks, temperature checks, increased cleaning and air purification, social distancing, etc.
What if I still don’t feel comfortable attending?
Ticket holders who are reluctant to return to the theatre may request a DCPA credit or refund.
ALTERNATIVE PROGRAMMING
Do you plan on streaming content?
We are working with artists and colleagues to offer a variety of socially-distanced programs and online streaming opportunities. These will be added to denvercenter.org once they are confirmed and available to the community. Additionally, we have several content series on Facebook including #DCPAMemories and Artist Spotlight. Follow us on social media: @denvercenter.
Why can’t you just stream live productions?
We would love to; however, we must weigh both the safety guidelines and cost.
- State and local guidelines for indoor performances require performers — including musicians — to wear masks, which does not align with our artistic vision.
- Reduction of audiences to meet indoor social distancing guidelines is not cost-effective.
- The cost to mount a full production for either in-person or online audiences is prohibitive.
- The temporary loss of income from Broadway tours results in a significant financial loss for the DCPA, which has restricted our ability to produce local shows.
- Normal fees and salaries for the authors, creative teams, actors, and artists are set based on the production being presented in front of a live audience only. Streaming, whether live or previously recorded, becomes a broadcast and requires permission and additional fees and salaries for all artists involved.
Why can’t you just stream plays from your archive?
Streaming, whether live or previously recorded, becomes a broadcast and requires permission and additional fees and salaries for all artists originally involved. We are currently in negotiations with our union partners who represent actors, stage managers, directors, choreographers and designers to determine the costs for streaming select productions.
Why can’t you just stream Broadway shows?
The DCPA does not own the rights to Broadway tours. Those decisions are made by producers of each show.
