Robert S. Kenney

Robert S. Kenney is president of Xcel Energy’s Colorado Operating Company, the largest of Xcel Energy’s divisions, serving 1.6 million electricity and 1.5 million natural gas customers. He oversees strategic operations, regulatory affairs, and stakeholder engagement, guiding a team of 4,000 employees in delivering safe, reliable, and clean energy. Under his leadership, Xcel Energy continues to advance its industry-leading goal of providing carbon-free electricity by 2050.

With over 30 years of experience in regulatory, legal, and public affairs, Robert has held leadership roles at Pacific Gas & Electric and served as Chairman of the Missouri Public Service Commission. He is a nationally recognized authority in utility law and public policy, having served on the boards of NARUC and the Organization of MISO States. He also served as Chief of Staff to the Missouri Attorney General and practiced law at Polsinelli. Robert currently serves on the boards of the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce and Cleo Parker Robinson Dance. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Hampton University and a law degree from Saint Louis University School of Law.
