Come celebrate the past, present and future of Colorado’s immersive art and entertainment scene at the Denver Immersive Retrospectacle.
This one night mini-summit captures the energy and accomplishments of the Mile High immersive community while giving makers, producers, performers and patrons a chance to mingle during pre-event activities and a post-event mixer.
The evening will feature a keynote by Jaakko Stenros, a Finnish game researcher and scholar who specializes in playfulness through a variety of game types. His talk will center on Nordic live action role-playing (LARP), which pushes the boundaries of immersive form and content through a variety of themes and structures. After sharing examples and ideas from these experiential worlds, a panel of Denver artists, puzzle room designers and other immersive creatives will reflect on how they can incorporate these possibilities into their fields of practice.
There will also be a year-in-review of major local immersive productions and accomplishments in the areas of theatre and dance, art and installations, attractions and events, and everything in between! And as a special bonus for attendees, you’ll receive a copy of the Denver Immersive Summit Yearbook, a handy who’s who of regional immersive art and entertainment creators and producers.
If you’ve helped create a recent immersive piece or have one in the works, don’t miss this must-attend event!

About the Denver Immersive Summit
The Denver Immersive Summit was organized in the fall of 2018 by two University of Colorado Denver professors, Jenny Filipetti and David Thomas. They organized the summit as a way to bring together the diverse population of local immersive artists, creatives, performers producers and patrons. This one-way event sold out 250 seats and helped act as a catalyst for local immersive work.
The DEN IS team has continued to run smaller scale educational events throughout the year and is the proud co-host of the Denver Immersive Retrospectacle.
