Lynn McDonald serves as the Executive Director of the Genesee Mountain Foundation, an organization dedicated to advocating for arts education for children in grades K-12 across Colorado. Lynn and her husband, Kevin, have been ardent supporters of the Denver Center for the Performing Arts (DCPA) since 2012 and members of its Best of Broadway since 2014.

Lynn’s direct involvement with the DCPA began in 2017 when she collaborated with Allison Watrous, Executive Director of Education & Community Engagement to become the Presenting Sponsor for Snowy Day and Other Stories by Ezra Jack Keats, the first Theatre for Young Audiences (TYA) play produced by the DCPA. Since its inception, TYA has introduced theatre to more than 130,000 pre-K to third grade students with its annual fall production.

Lynn and Kevin were also proud supporters of the 2020 Grander Opening Capital Campaign supporting renovation of the Helen Bonfils Theatre Complex. In recognition of their contributions, they were honored in 2022 with the Daniel L. Ritchie Spotlight Award for leadership in education. The Genesee Mountain Foundation continues the couple’s extraordinary philanthropy with ongoing support for TYA and Shakespeare in the Parking Lot, an education program aimed at high school students.

Additionally, Lynn serves as a current Trustee for the Colorado Symphony, Co-Chair of their Community Education Program, as well as a supporter of many other education initiatives.

“When a child experiences the arts or theatre multiple times, it cultivates a lifelong appreciation, encouraging them to become enduring patrons of creativity.”
