We want theatre to be accessible to all. Explore the services available to you at the Arts Complex and enrich your theatre experience.
The Denver Center for the Performing Arts wants to make your theatre-going experience unforgettable. We offer many accessible services and amenities including Audio Description, American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation and captioning services. Please note the performance and date availability when ordering tickets.
If you have questions about accessibility prior to purchasing tickets, please email accessibility@dcpa.org. If you need assistance purchasing or exchanging tickets, our Box Office Agents are available at 303.893.4100 from 10am-6pm Monday through Saturday.
If you have questions regarding your Personal Care Attendant’s (PCA) admission, please email accessibility@dcpa.org.
Audio Assistance
All services are free with paid admission. Please check below for availability.
- Enhanced Assistive Listening Devices: Always available for performances taking place at the Denver Performing Arts Complex. Please see an usher.
- American Sign Language interpretation: Available to most shows on select performance dates or upon request with a two-week notice. Subject to availability. REQUEST ASL INTERPRETATION.
- Open Captioning: Available to most shows in the Buell, Ellie, and Wolf Theatres on select performance dates. Subject to availability.
- Personal Captioning (Theatre Company): While we are not currently able to provide Personal Captioning services, we are working hard to broaden accessibility and to bring this option back to future productions. Please email accessibility@dcpa.org for questions about this service, and to be notified when we do.
Visual Assistance
All services are free with paid admission. Please check below for availability.
- Audio Description: Available on select dates or upon request with a two-week notice. Subject to availability. REQUEST AUDIO DESCRIPTION.
- Large print programs: Always available for theatrical performances taking place at the Denver Performing Arts Complex. Available for off-site productions with a two-week advance notice by contacting accessibility@dcpa.org. Please see an usher.
- Braille programs: House copy is available at customer service desk or can be provided with a two-week advance notice by contacting accessibility@dcpa.org.
Mobility Assistance
All theatres have wheelchair accessible and companion seats.
- Ramps, elevators and courtesy wheelchairs are available. Please seek a Volunteer for additional information.
- Parking: Wheelchair accessible parking is located on levels 3, 4 and 5 of the complex garage. There is also curbside drop-off 14th St. between Curtis and Champa.
Sensory-Friendly Performances
Theatre for Young Audiences offers sensory-friendly performances on select dates.
- Sensory-Friendly Performances are designed to be welcoming and inclusive for individuals with autism, sensory processing disorders, or other conditions by presenting theatre in a relaxed way to ensure everyone has access to live entertainment in a comfortable environment.
- Individuals of all abilities and with any and all behaviors are welcome.
