WHY THEATRE EDUCATION?
It’s more than just acting. Our classes help form well-rounded, articulate, and empathetic individuals. Whether your student is just discovering their voice or is ready for master-level instruction, we have the perfect courses to help them grow and thrive. All of our sessions blend the fundamentals of acting while developing skills like critical thinking, language, and teamwork. Through their experiences in theatre, our students come to understand the importance of commitment, collaboration, grit, and revision.
WHY DCPA EDUCATION AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT?
We’re no strangers to teaching, engaging more than 144,000 students each year through on-site classes, in-school programs, student matinees, and Theatre for Young Audiences performances. Students learn first-hand from our professional teaching staff of national theatre leaders, who bring decades of professional experience to their classes and curriculum. All personnel undergo extensive training and have passed a background check by the Colorado Bureau of Investigations. Our faculty biographies are available online.
HOW ONLINE?
As DCPA Education and Community Engagement moves to online programming, we remain committed to each of our classes being facilitated ‘live’ rather than pre-recorded. This commitment maintains the bonds of student-teacher and the power of communal learning and peer-to-peer discovery. Classes will continue to empower up and doing, whole-body learning, movement, and theatricality.
