Creating dedicated opportunities for female artists and leaders in theatre since 2005
The Women’s Voices Fund enables our Theatre Company to commission, workshop and produce new plays by women. This initiative was the first of its kind in the nation to champion the work of women in the American theatre and is currently valued at more than $1.7 million. Since the establishment of the fund in 2005, the DCPA Theatre Company has produced 39 plays by women (including 18 world premieres), supported the work of 46 female playwrights, and employed 33 female directors.

“Being a part of the Women’s Voices Fund has enabled us to be associated with a movement in the American theatre that supports and promotes outstanding talented female playwrights and directors. It’s so rewarding to see the indelible impact these women are making on the contemporary American theatre scene today.”
