Candace Kearns

Candace Kearns holds a BFA in Dramatic Writing from NYU and an MFA in Creative Writing from Antioch University Los Angeles. She worked for the talent agencies ICM and Willam Morris in L.A. for many years as a story analyst and was the personal script reader for Anthony Hopkins, Marlon Brando, Michelle Pfeiffer and many other A-list actors and directors. She also read and developed scripts for John Wells Productions, Castle Rock, and Village Roadshow Pictures. Her original screenplays have been developed at all of the major studios and have been optioned by several production companies. She has written many scripts “for hire” and is the author of the book Shaping True Story into Screenplay. She runs the consulting business Shaping True Story and teaches or has taught screenwriting for Metro State, Lighthouse Young Writers Program and Antioch University.
