Teaching Artist and Education Program Manager Theatre for Young Audiences

Emily Doherty is a Teaching Artist and the Theatre for Young Audiences Program Manager at Denver Center for the Performing Arts. She specializes in teaching music and early childhood education within theatrical explorations. She is dedicated to building inclusive and accessible experiences in and out of the classroom and shows in our theatres. She has worked with Denver Center for the Performing Arts’ Education Department in a teaching capacity since the summer of 2018. She has also worked with Denver Center Theatre Company as a Production Assistant for Corduroy, and as a Young Performer’s Supervisor for Anna Karenina. Prior to living in Denver, Emily was a teacher and administrative assistant at the Michigan State University Community Music School while earning her Bachelor’s degree and Teaching Credential in Music Education at Michigan State University. She has worked as a Residential Technician supporting young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Emily was previously the Activities Coordinator for the Mark T. Starr Center facilitating engagement for adult clients with developmental disabilities.
