Jesús Quintana Martínez

Director of Community Engagement

Jesús Quintana serves as the Director of Community Engagement for the Denver Center for the Performing Arts. He is passionate about community engagement, education and the arts and is delighted to build strong, long-lasting relationships between the community and DCPA in an authentic and deliberate way.

Jesús was born and raised in Chihuahua, Mexico and is extremely proud of his rich Mexican cultural heritage and identity. He moved to the San Luis Valley region in Colorado where he worked as a migrant farm worker; this influenced his love for Mother Earth and his utmost respect for farm workers.

Jesús attended Adams State University and Metropolitan State University of Denver where he graduated with a self-designed Bachelor of Arts degree, Arts for Youth-at-Risk. Jesús enrolled at the Universidad de Guadalajara (UDG) and completed the Mesoamerican and Latin American Civilizations study abroad programs in Mexico and Central/South America focusing on the role of the arts in improving mental health and well-being in adolescents with depression and dysfunctional families. Currently, je is pursuing a dual Master of Science degree in Organizational Leadership and Management at the Colorado State University – Global Campus.

Jesús’ broad career path and work experience has allowed him to genuinely and effectively engage with diverse communities throughout the state of Colorado. Besides giving back to his local community as a volunteer, he has also had the privilege of volunteering internationally with various organizations – for him, his community has no geographical boundaries! Jesús is a life-long learner and seizes every opportunity to absorb knowledge, challenge himself, and try something new.
