Joy Burns

Joy Burns spent her career as the developer and president of the Burnsley Hotel and D.C. Burns Realty & Trust. As an advocate of Denver tourism, she served as the first woman chair of Visit Denver and was instrumental in the Colorado Convention Center expansion. Joy has also been committed to the University of Denver where she served as Chairman of the Board and contributed to the Joy Burns Ice Arena, the Franklin L. Burns School of Real Estate and Construction Management, and Burns Plaza. Additionally, she has been affiliated with such groups as the Sportswomen of Colorado, the Metropolitan Football Stadium Board, the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, the President’s National Republican Women’s Coalition and the Association of Small Luxury Hotels of the World. She joined the Board of the Denver Center for the Performing Arts in 2007 and has since contributed to the development of new plays, especially those by women playwrights.
