Laura Maresca

People & Culture Department and Human Resources

As Chief People & Culture Officer, Laura oversees the People & Culture Department and Human Resources to ensure a “people-first” approach to recruitment and retention. She is instrumental in helping to create and sustain the highly engaged, high performing organization that delivers the DCPA’s mission every day. Laura leads the HR team in providing services to DCPA team members including talent acquisition, benefits, HR operations, organizational effectiveness, and training and professional development.

Laura brings 20 years of experience as an employment attorney and HR professional to her role at the DCPA. Prior to joining the DCPA, she served as the Vice Chancellor for Human Resources and Inclusive Community at the University of Denver where she supervised the delivery of strategic human resource services of the University’s 2,500+ employees and also supervised the University’s Title IX and Equal Opportunity Office. Laura also served as the Senior Vice President of Human Resources for Scottish RE. Most recently, Laura provided strategic HR consulting services to non-profit, corporate, and government entity clients. 

Laura holds a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Denver and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Mount St. Mary’s University. She holds a Senior Certified Professional designation and an Inclusive Workplace Culture specialty credential from the Society of Human Resource Management.
