María Corral
Director of Community Engagement
Born and raised in Colorado, María Corral has cultivated a strong network in the metro Denver community to support individuals and groups with limited access to resources. As a child of immigrants, she believes in the power of connection, collaboration, education, and community to uplift working families and help communities thrive. In her role as the Latino Constituency Engagement Director for U.S. Congressional Representative Yadira Caraveo, María played a key role in electing the first Latina to represent Colorado’s newest district (CD 8). She engaged key stakeholders and implemented innovative strategies to amplify underrepresented voices. As the Community Integration Coordinator for the Denver Office of Immigrant & Refugee Affairs, María promoted the integration of immigrant and refugee residents by sharing city resources and services, building partnerships, and hosting events like Citizenship Workshops where over 500 people received assistance applying for U.S. citizenship. Her background includes roles with SEIU Local 105, Denver Public Schools, Girls Inc, and Mi Casa Resource Center for Women. María is a University of Denver alumna, where she studied law and society and communications. She was also selected as a fellow for the Latino Leadership Institute at the Daniel’s School of Business. Her volunteer service includes chairing the board of Levitt Pavilion Denver, co-chairing the University of Denver Latino Alumni Association, serving on the boards of Inside the Orchestra and Focus Points Family Resource Center, and is a founding board member of the Colorado Organization of Latina Opportunity and Reproductive Rights (COLOR).
