Patrick Elkins-Zeglarski

Director of Education and Curriculum Management

Patrick’s work has long been informed by his curiosity in, and inquiry of, the duality of arts integrated curriculum and cognitive/creative response. A frequent provider of professional development within the university, educational, corporate, and non-profit sectors, Patrick has held full and guest professor positions at Lesley University, Central Washington University, Cornell, University of Northern Iowa, and the University of Queensland as well as community colleges in California, Arizona, Maryland and Iowa. Serving as a teaching artist and developer of arts-based, culturally responsive pedagogy and curricula, Patrick has worked for the state arts commissions of California and Arizona. This work engaged him within urban and rural schools (PREK-12) and communities across both states including the Navajo Nation and the Hopi Tribe. Directing credits include GeVa Theatre, Berkeley Rep, ACT, and Sacramento Theatre Company and numerous small professional companies and university productions. Patrick works nationally as a freelance dramaturg and education/pedagogy consultant within the practices of arts integration and socio-emotional learning. Patrick holds a BA and an MFA in the fields of theatre education (University of Northern Iowa) and theatre for young audiences (Arizona State University) with academic concentrations in the early twentieth century African-American experience, Appreciative Inquiry, and infant and toddler caregiving (Montessori certification). Patrick is a native of Sacramento, CA.
