Tom McNally

Tom McNally is a nationally known teacher, director, actor and author. His national awards include: The Educational Theater Association’s Hall of Fame Award and that same organization’s Founders Award as top university theater teacher in America.  He has presented some 300 acting workshops in over 17 states, including 6 keynote addresses. In his 44 years of teaching in college and professional theater, he was on the faculties of Loretto Heights College, Penn State University (1981 – 1988) and for the last 29 years at the University of Northern Colorado, where he also served as Artistic Director of Little Theater of the Rockies and Department Chair. His textbook “Acting: The Active Process” (Kendall Hunt) has been used in universities and secondary school programs around the country and reflects his hands-on New York City studio systems approach. Tom was also given the Colorado “Henry Award” for lifetime achievement. He is very excited to return to teach acting at the DCPA after a thirty-six year absence.
