Each session brings to life books such as Errol’s Garden, I LOVE Strawberries, Emile and the Field, Miguel’s Community Garden, and Linh’s Rooftop Garden through theatrical games, activities, and joyful imaginative play. This spring, the DCPA celebrates with the beloved Sci-Fi Musical, Little Shop of Horrors in the Wolf Theatre. Join in the fun and create an original musical that features funny, fantastical, but above all, entertaining science fiction creatures from the far reaches of the imagination. Will they dance? Will they sing? Yes! Lightning will strike and these creature creations will come to life through improvisation and character development techniques as the young artists dive into dance moves, write lyrics, and create a story worth howling about!

Using a heavy dose of imagination, solid acting techniques and inspiration from Broadway musicals, such as Hairspray, Little Shop of Horrors, and The Outsiders, create characters who love to Twist and Shout, Mashed Potato and Watusi all the while singing Rock and Roll and Motown music.
