Denver-based actors lead production tailored for PreK-3rd grade students 

The Denver Center for the Performing Arts is pleased to announce the full cast and creative team for the Theatre for Young Audiences production of Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus! The Musical!, based on the beloved books by Mo Willems. Performances will begin in the Randy Weeks Conservatory Theatre on October 23.  

Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus! The Musical! will feature Bryan J. Black (Dracula: A Comedy of Terrors, DCPA) as Pigeon, Randy Chalmers (Goodnight Moon, DCPA) as Hot Dog Vendor/Businessman/Duckling, Matt Zambrano (Little Red, DCPA) as City Worker/Duckling/Bus Puppet Dream Ballet/Puppy/Puppet Captain, Alex Campbell (Little Red, DCPA) as Bus Driver/Puppy, Joanie Brosseau-Rubald (Goodnight Moon, DCPA) as Little Old Lady, Taylor Baker (Annie, Town Hall Arts Center) as Teenager, Michaela Murray (Goodnight Moon DCPA) as Understudy and Dance Captain, and Brian Watson (Goodnight Moon, DCPA) as Understudy. 

The production will be directed by Allison Watrous (Goodnight Moon, DCPA) with musical direction by Jordan Ortman (Goodnight Moon, DCPA), choreography by Diana Dresser (Goodnight Moon, DCPA), scenic design by Lisa M. Orzolek (Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Denver Center Theatre Company), costume design by Kevin Copenhaver (The Tempest, Denver Center Theatre Company), lighting design by Charles R. MacLeod (The Tempest, Denver Center Theatre Company), sound design by Alex Billman (Theater of the Mind, DCPA), puppet design by Chris Campbell, puppet specialist Aretta Baumgartner (Doctor De Soto, Alliance Theatre), casting by Grady Soapes, CSA (The Tempest, Denver Center Theatre Company), and stage management by Wayne Breyer (Goodnight Moon, DCPA) and Harper Hadley (English, Denver Center Theatre Company).

Through the SCFD Access program, made possible by citizen support of the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District (SCFD), the DCPA can provide a limited number of reduced-price tickets to the community to select DCPA productions.
