The award-winning creators Third Rail Projects return to Denver to premiere the theatrical companion story of the beloved 2016 immersive production, Sweet & Lucky.
New York-based Third Rail Projects (Sweet & Lucky, Then She Fell) and the Denver Center for the Performing Arts (DCPA) Off-Center (Theater of the Mind, Sweet & Lucky) are thrilled to bring the theatrical companion story to the groundbreaking 2016 production of Sweet & Lucky to Denver this summer with Sweet & Lucky: Echo.
This two-hour dreamlike theatrical journey unfolds inside a 15,000 square-foot venue —DCPA Off-Center at Broadway Park®, the Denver Center’s temporary home for large-scale immersive programming. Attendees will follow performers through a 360-degree warehouse of memories and help to unpack the chapters of their lives as they share flashbacks of their love story.
“Returning to Denver nine years later to share a companion story of Sweet & Lucky to new and returning audiences is incredibly meaningful for us,” stated Co-Artistic Director of Third Rail Projects, Zach Morris. “Sweet & Lucky was not only a milestone in our artistic journey, but it also left a lasting impression on Denver audiences and the greater immersive theatre community. The response was deeply moving and affirmed the power of sharing intimate, transformative experiences. We’re excited to build on that foundation in Denver once again and share this new piece.”
“As we celebrate the 15th anniversary of Off-Center and mark nine years since our first large-scale immersive theatre production—the unforgettable Sweet & Lucky— we are thrilled to reunite with Third Rail Projects to revisit the powerful themes of the original and reimagine a new story for this moment with Sweet & Lucky: Echo,” said Charlie Miller, Executive Director and Curator of DCPA Off-Center. “This next chapter builds on our legacy of pushing theatrical boundaries and crafting unexpected theatrical experiences that place audiences at the center of the story. We can’t wait to bring Sweet & Lucky: Echo to Denver and bring this bold new immersive production to life.”

What do the things we leave in our wake say about the life we’ve lived?
From the award-winning creators of Sweet & Lucky comes its long-awaited companion. A groundbreaking new work of immersive theatre. A world that is built around you. A story of collective remembrance.
In Sweet & Lucky: Echo, you’ll follow performers through a warehouse of memories, where vignettes of a couple’s life materialize out of thin air—like pages of a scrapbook springing to vivid life. In the space between love and loss, remembering and forgetting, we’ll uncover their most tender moments. Falling in love. Building a home. Weathering storms.
Together, we’ll remember.
