Denver Arts Week returns November 7-16, 2025. The annual event provides Colorado residents and visitors with hundreds of opportunities to experience the wide variety of options the state’s arts scene has to offer, whether that’s revisiting an old favorite, or discovering a new venue or event. Denver Arts Week is about more than just exploring and attending arts events for free or reduced prices – although those are plenty of good reasons to participate! New this year is a partnership with the Flourishing Through Arts & Science Council, which helps demonstrate the importance of the arts in creating and enhancing a well-rounded life.

Art & Wellbeing: Flourishing Through the Arts

New this year, the Flourishing Through the Arts & Science Initiative 2025, a project of the Flourishing Through Arts & Science Council is happening in tandem with Denver Arts Week. The series of special events, held from Nov. 6-16, 2025, is a first-of-its kind citywide public health and artis initiative.

The program is based on scientific evidence with studies showing that physical, mental, social, and spiritual health can all be improved by participating in visual arts, music, dance, singing, and writing. Cognitive abilities improve, life skills improve, and loneliness decreases.

“Visit Denver is promoting events under the theme Art & Well-Being, highlighting how creativity enriches both our communities and our personal wellness,” explains Abby Schirmacher, Manager of Cultural Tourism Programs for Visit Denver. “Across the city, cultural organizations and venues are planning experiences that bring together art, nature and mindfulness, from outdoor performances and gallery walks to programs designed to restore balance and inspire connection. These events celebrate the unique ways Denver’s creative spirit supports not just artistic expression, but also health, joy and community.”

There will be lectures, presentations, performances, exhibitions receptions and tours offered at various arts and science venues including Art Students League, Gallery 1261 and the University of Colorado (CU) Anschutz Medical Campus. Reservations are required for the events since capacity is limited.

Events include opening and closing receptions; Art from Ashes First Friday Youth Performances on Nov. 7 with a workshop and performance by poets ages 12-24; Autumn Harvest Craft & Art Walk featuring talented local artisans’ unique art pieces and one-of-a-kind crafts on Nov. 8; Paint the Rockies Trailside in Indian Hills on Nov. 9; Sip & Sculpt Pottery Workshop for all levels on Nov. 13; Nature Journaling: Patterns in Nature using plant life and painting on Nov. 15 and much more.

“We are standing at the forefront of a growing worldwide movement that is recognizing the importance of the arts to healthy living,” says Shannon Robinson, President of Windows to the Divine and Chairperson of the Flourishing Through Arts & Science Council. “By educating the public and policy makers about the highly credible research confirming the benefits of the arts, whether it be through beauty-enriched environments or experiences such as viewing or collecting art, engaging in music, dance, painting, drawing, or writing, we will witness an explosive demand for the arts that will lead to a new and modern renaissance like no other in human history.”
