Denver Center Theatre Company Announces Tony and Emmy Award-Winning Cast and Creative Team for Olney Theatre Center Production of Avaaz

The Denver Center Theatre Company is excited to announce the Tony and Emmy Award-winning cast and creative team for the Olney Theatre Center’s production of Avaaz, written and performed by Emmy Award-nominee Michael Shayan. Directed by Tony Award-nominee Moritz von Stuelpngael, Avaaz will run Oct 4 – Nov 17, 2024, in the Singleton Theatre.

Critics in Washington D.C. raved about the sold out, record-breaking Olney Theatre Center production, with The Washington Post calling it “Powerful, defiant, and celebratory. Star Michael Shayan sparkles.” BroadwayWorld declared it “A dazzling spectacle. Divinely embodied. A riot. Ingenious.”DC Theater Arts said it is “Masterful. Belly-shaking laughs. An undeniable treat.”

“I saw Avaaz at the world premiere at South Coast Repertory Theatre and not only was the production hilarious but touched on important conversations that are topical to today,” said Artistic Director Chris Coleman. “I am thrilled that we get to present this beautiful Olney Theatre production, and I hope audiences will have fun and learn about this story of overcoming odds.”

Through the DCPAccess program, made possible by citizen support of the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District (SCFD), the DCPA can provide a limited number of reduced-price tickets to the community to select DCPA productions.
