How did they do it? The magic doors of ‘A Doll’s House, Part 2’

Audiences are in for a bit of a surrealistic staging surprise

The DCPA Theatre Company is the first to ever present Henrik Ibsen’s A Doll’s House and its contemporary sequel, A Doll’s House, Part 2, in repertory. And audiences are in for a bit of a surrealistic staging surprise when they see how the Helmer house has changed in the 15 years since Nora stormed out with the “door slam heard around the word.”

The doors of that house operate very differently in A Doll’s House, Part 2.

In this fun new backstage video, DCPA Theatre Company Technical Director Eric Moore and Associate Technical Director Joshua Prues detail the difference – and the staging challenges that come with it. Performances continue in the Ricketson Theatre November 24.
