Belle in A Christmas Carol

• Hometown: Denver
• High school: Green Mountain
• College: BFA, Metropolitan State University of Denver
• What was the role that changed your life? That would be the role of the mother in my 6^th grade musical production of The Highlight Zone (a twist on The Twilight Zone. I had told my mom at the age of 3 I was “going to be a star,” but being cast in a staged production was the moment I knew acting was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.
• Why are you an actor? Because it brings me the most joy and excitement. To commune with other human beings and create art to tell a story every night is an honor. To connect with your fellow actors onstage and affect an audience with the truth you find in the character you get to be. To me, there’s nothing better.
• What would you be doing for a career if you weren’t an actor? I would be a receptionist. I love the idea of dressing up everyday, answering phones, inputting things and typing on the computer all day.
• Ideal scene partner: In my opinion, Mark Rylance is the most brilliant, versatile and remarkable actor of all time. I could watch him for hours and experience every emotion. • Why does this play matter? Because A Christmas Carol is about the renewal of joy and love. No matter the current state of the world, this play will always resonate because its themes are universal.
• What do you hope the audience gets out of it? I hope they walk away with full hearts; a restored sense of love; and a sense of patience and empathy for everyone in their lives and in the world.
• Finish this sentence: All I want is … “less ignorance and more patience, understanding, acceptance – and chocolate cake.”
