Phamaly Theatre Company, Denver’s premier disability-affirmative theatre, is hosting its first-ever live-streamed virtual fundraiser, Phamaly’s BIG NIGHT! “The Show Must Go On!” Webathon, on October 18, 2020 at 7pm MT.
This year has come with many challenges, including the postponement of Phamaly’s summer musical and corresponding fundraiser featuring Alice in Wonderland, leading to a significant loss of revenue for the organization.
Instead, Phamaly’s annual fundraiser is going virtual, providing a unique opportunity to enjoy live performance again. In this tongue-in-cheek homage to the Jerry Lewis Telethon, Phamaly presents an 80-minute show featuring music, comedy, and eclectic acts featuring your favorite performers and some special guests. The fundraiser will celebrate more than 30 years of transformative, disability-affirmative theatre.
Broadcast on Phamaly’s YouTube Channel, the show is family-friendly, free to enjoy, and complete with ASL interpretation, captioning, and audio description.
While the event is free, guests are asked to RSVP at phamaly.org, where they also are encouraged to donate a minimum of $45 per person, which would have been the cost to attend Alice in Wonderland this past summer.
