Since 1979, we’ve produced more than 147 world premieres, presented readings of 214 new works and commissioned 47 playwrights since the first season in 1979-80. By commissioning plays, we underwrite the important work required of playwrights, invest in the future of the American theatre and keep our finger on the pulse of contemporary writing.
