Beyond the Script: Denver Public Library’s Guide to Goodnight Moon

What sounds lull you to sleep? Listen closely and you might just notice the fluttering of aspen leaves, the purring of a cat, or the clacking of train wheels on a track. From big cities and remote farms to oceans and mountains, this whimsically illustrated picture book celebrates the environments that surround us while we slumber.

Bear and six of his forest friends gather together for a night of camping under the stars – in mighty fine pairs of underwear, of course! The friends spot nocturnal critters by flashlight beam, encounter various insects (including some that bite — ouch!), and even get caught in a thunderstorm.
