Colorado is a wonderful state to experience autumn, with leaf peeping, pumpkin patches, craft breweries, and spectacular views. Across the state are dozens of fall festivals celebrating the season. Peruse this roundup to find one near you!
Denver Oktoberfest
Weekend One: September 20-22; Weekend Two: September 27-29 | Larimer & 21st Street
This two weekend Oktoberfest has been a Denver staple since 1969. Experience keg bowling, stein hoisting, live music, and, of course, the chicken dance! All are welcome, but VIP tickets are available for purchase at a variety of price points.
Anderson Farms Fall Festival
September 25-November 2 | Anderson Farms
Colorado’s largest family fall festival takes place for over a month in Erie. Family-friendly activities include wagon rides, a pumpkin patch, corn maze, games, a petting zoo, face painting, and so much more. Live entertainment, campfire sites, paintball shooting, escape rooms and more are open to adults. Ticket sales are limited on a daily basis, and advance reservations online are highly recommended. Tickets are available at a variety of price points.
Mountain Harvest Festival
September 27-29 | Town Park, Paonia
The North Fork Valley Creative Coalition presents the annual Mountain Harvest Festival in Paonia. This weekend-long event promises entertainment, farm and winery tours, local food vendors, and events such as the Chalk Art Competition and a Chili Cook-Off. The festival is free to attend, but select events may require paid entry.
Elk Fest
September 28 & 29 | Bond Park, Estes Park
Celebrate Colorado’s elk at Elk Fest with vendors, live music, food trucks, performances and more. The festival coincides with the famous elk rut, or mating season. Wild elk are often easily seen throughout town – please remember to use caution around wild animals! The festival is free to attend.
Miner’s Pumpkin Patch
Saturdays in October | 9am to 3pm | Western Museum of Mining & Industry
This Colorado Springs festival takes place every Saturday in October. Stop by for yard games, hayrides, food trucks, and a pumpkin patch. Tickets are $11 and can be purchased in advance online or upon entry.
Cedaredge Applefest
October 4-6 | Town Park, Cedaredge
Celebrate local businesses, apple orchards, and artists at Cedaredge Applefest. The weekend-long festival also includes a golf tournament, a 5K run, an antique car show, and more. The festival is free to attend, but select events may require paid entry.
Cider Days
Saturday, October 5 | 10am to 5pm | Heritage Lakewood Belmar Park
Tickets are on sale now for the annual Cider Days festival. Celebrate Lakewood’s agricultural heritage with live music, family-friendly activities, exhibits and local vendors, plus tasty treats including apple cider and other apple goodies. Tickets are $10 if you purchase in advance or $15 upon entry. Child admission is $8.
Pumpkin Festival
October 11-13 | Chatfield Farms
This Denver Botanic Gardens mainstay is immensely popular among local residents. Explore a ten-acre pumpkin patch, a corn maze, local food and beverage vendors, and family-friendly activities. Tickets must be purchased online in advance and are available at a variety of price points.
Poudre Pour Art & Culture Fest
Saturday, October 12 | 1pm to 5pm | Windsor History Museum
This annual Poudre event celebrates the area’s vibrant history with live music, visual and culinary arts, interactive exhibits, historical tours, and more. This year’s event is focused on Hispanic Heritage Month, with local groups providing demonstrations and activities. General admission is free, but a craft beer tasting ticket costs $20.
Pumpkin Harvest Festival
October 12 & 13 | Four Mile Historic Park
This family-favorite fall festival features a plethora of activities, including building your own scarecrow, old-fashioned prairie games, face painting, tractor rides, and more. Tickets can be purchased online in advance at a variety of price points. Ticket prices are expected to increase on October 7, so book early!
Fritzler Farm Fall Festival
October 12 & 13; October 19 & 20 | Fritzler Farm Park
Between Denver and Greeley is Fritzler Farm, which hosts a fall festival on weekends in October. Enjoy corn mazes, go-carts, a pumpkin patch, and a beer garden. Ages 3 and up require a ticket for admission, which are available online and upon entry.
Applefest
October 13 & 20 | 3:30pm to 6pm | YA YA Farm & Orchard
YA YA Farm & Orchard is popular all autumn with its U-Pick It orchard, farm animals, flowers, and the large market filled with apple goodies. But, if you purchase a ticket for one of its Applefest events, you also receive dinner and dessert, plus a live music performance. Adult tickets are $45, $22 tickets are available for children 10 and under, and are $5 for children 3 and under.
