DCPA Transitions to New Ticketing Provider

In 2024, the Denver Center for the Performing Arts published its five-year strategic plan, which set a course for the organization through its 2028/29 season. Among the goals was to modernize the organization’s use of technology to advance audience and donor relations.

One major part of this goal was to implement a new ticketing system to provide an improved customer experience as well as better sales, fundraising, and registration tools.

The DCPA selected Tessitura Network as its new third party shopping cart provider. Born out of a need to marry ticketing with fundraising, New York’s Metropolitan Opera developed Tessitura as an integrated customer relationship management (CRM) system specializing in arts and cultural events. Now an industry leader, Tessitura works with more than 750 clients nationwide, of which 80 are non-profit organizations and venues including Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, Sydney Opera House, Denver Zoo, Colorado Ballet, Colorado Symphony, and Opera Colorado.

The new shopping experience will feature:

  • New “choose your own” seat maps
  • Easier access to upload tickets to Apple & Google wallet
  • Automatic subscriber pricing upon login
  • Streamlined Class Registration

Additionally, a bonus feature will be rolled out in the coming months allowing patrons the ability to exchange their tickets online.

“I’d like to extend a tremendous word of thanks to the DCPA’s IT, Box Office, Marketing, Development, Finance and Education teams for their leadership on this project,” said DCPA President & CEO Janice Sinden. “Their contributions will help the organization achieve the goals in our strategic plan, which, ultimately, will elevate our patron’s shopping experience for years to come.”

The transition will take place the week of January 6 when all DCPA ticketing will be unavailable. Once Tessitura is in place, patrons will be contacted by email and asked to reset the password to their DCPA account.

The Denver Center for the Performing Arts remains the official ticketing provider for all shows presented or produced by DCPA Broadway, DCPA Cabaret, Denver Center Theatre Company, DCPA Off-Center, and Theatre for Young Audiences. Following the transition, tickets and classes may be purchased online 24/7 at www.denvercenter.org or by phone at 303.893.4100 or in person at the Helen Bonfils Theatre Complex ticket counter Tuesday-Saturday from 12-6pm.
