September in Colorado theatre: It all starts anew, and now

Everything by every company in the Colorado theatre community

Barbra Wengerd and Marianna McClellan will play Nora in the different parts of the DCPA Theatre Company’s ‘A Doll’s House.’

While live theatre proliferates year-round in Colorado, fall marks the traditional start of the theatre season. And this fall, more than 75 theatre companies will be presenting a wide variety of plays, musicals, mysteries and melodramas throughout the state. To mark the occasion, we are not only offering up our usual updated list of all openings and ongoing productions for September, but our exhaustive annual list of every Colorado theatre company’s currently planned titles, along with dates and ticket information.

As an added treat, we will be rolling out a fun, progressive photo gallery spotlighting one Colorado theatre production every day through September 30. We’re calling it “30 Plays in 30 Days.” The series officially launches on September 1, but we’re giving you the first three photos in the series now to give you a taste. First up is Marisa Hebert in Colorado Springs TheatreWorks’ acclaimed production of The Mountaintop. Click on the link for our Flickr gallery, where each photo will offer more background information on the plays, along with each featured actor’s personal thoughts on why you should go and see theirs. Check back each day for a new featured production.

Companies are encouraged to submit listings and production photos at least two weeks in advance to the DCPA NewsCenter at jmoore@dcpa.org.
