Toy Collection Drives in Metro Denver

This winter, share some holiday cheer by donating to a local toy drive. There are several organizations across the metro Denver area that host drives, which means you are guaranteed to find at least one collection site near you.

By no means a comprehensive list, check out these local drives listed below. Gift recipients may vary, from families to children to teens. Also note that most organizations only accept new toys in their original packaging but check donation guidelines for additional information. And remember, it is almost always an option to support an organization with a monetary donation rather than gifts, too.

One of the largest toy drives in the metro Denver area is the Boys & Girls Clubs Together for Colorado Holiday Toy Drive. In partnership with CBS Colorado, King Soopers, and 97.3 KBCO, this toy drive allows hundreds of children to open a new gift during the holiday season.

Donations are accepted from November 29 to December 24 at several collection sites in the area, as well as over 100 King Soopers. A full list can be found online. Donated toys must be new and still in their original packaging, but not gift wrapped. A wish list can be found online, but all toys are welcomed.

The Denver Santa Claus Shop has served area children since 1931. From November 29 to December 13, new and gently used toys are accepted at Denver Mattress Co. locations across the metro area. The full list can be found online. Then, the annual Toy Shop will open December 13, 14, 16 & 17 at 2500 E 1st Avenue in Denver. Families receiving aid from Denver Human Services, Social Services, or other community partners can then “shop” for gifts for their children.

Denver Human Services (DHS) hosts collection drives several times a year to support families and individuals in need. Each November and December, the #BeaGiver Holiday Gift Drive serves over 2,000 people in the community.

On the DHS website, you may register to sponsor a family, child/teen, or older adult served by DHS. This allows you to shop for specific gifts, which you may deliver gift-wrapped to DHS. Alternatively, you may schedule a donation drop-off for new, unwrapped gifts. There are also options to purchase items from an Amazon wish list, make a monetary donation, or sign up to volunteer to sort, wrap, and organize donated gifts.

Volunteers of America and First American State Bank are hosting The Village Toy Drive through December 15. Donated toys must be new and still in their original packaging, but not gift wrapped – gifts are accepted for both children and teens. Cash donations are also accepted. Visit the First American State Bank at 8390 E Crescent Parkway in Greenwood Village to drop off donations.

Children’s Hospital Colorado accepts in-kind donations year-round. Visit its website to review the donation guidelines, then drop off your items at the children’s hospital nearest to you. The hospitals are also always in need of fleece blankets (you can find instructions to make your own on the website) or monetary donations.
