Mentorship Matters: Youth Programs Strengthening the Metro Denver Community

For youth, 1 in 6 adolescents aged 12–17 experience a major depressive episode; 103,000 Colorado adolescents experience one each year; 1 in 9 adolescents have serious thoughts of suicide; and 63,000 Colorado adolescents experience serious thoughts of suicide. Additionally, 19% of youth aged 0–17 have experienced two or more adverse childhood experiences linked to mental illness and substance misuse.
